Many products that our district purchased require our schools to paid teachers ( and substitutes to cover the teachers) to be trained by outside consultants or trainers before we teachers can use it. This process cost our districts thousands of dollars just to pay the substitutes to cover for those teachers. Often, the average on-site price is about $3,000 per site training event, plus paying all the substitutes the classes. Then, we would have to calculate the valuable instructional time lost due to attending the training. Some districts paid teacher $37- $41 hourly stipend to encourage teachers to attend in order to train teachers during Spring Break, Winter Break, and Summer. Why is our district willing to spend so much money to train teachers to use the service that they have to pay for teachers? Well, if we teachers are not using them, the district will still be charged for the unused service.

Teachers don’t have to wait for outsider to train them how to use it. By watching the brief How-To videos, teachers can learn how to use all the essential features.
Our mission of StreamlineED is not to find ways to get rich from our teachers, schools, or districts; rather, we want to make a difference to us teachers and our students. Some of our teachers are volunteering to support new teachers because they know the important impact of StreamlineED has on their instruction and students. Our school/district money should be spending the saved money on other essentials.
